How to Choose the Right Size for Your Dog's Medallion
An oversized medallion looks awkward on a Chihuahua, and a tiny one won't be readable on a Labrador. Here's our quick guide to getting the size right.
Medallion size matters both aesthetically and practically. One that's too small won't be readable at a glance, and one that's too large can be uncomfortable for your pet. Here's how we pick the right size together.
Our standard sizes
We offer three main sizes that fit almost any breed:
- Small (approx. 2–2.5 cm) — for cats and dogs under 5 kg (Chihuahua, Yorkshire Terrier, apartment cats)
- Medium (approx. 3 cm) — the standard size, suitable for dogs between 5–25 kg (Beagle, Cocker Spaniel, Border Collie)
- Large (approx. 3.5–4 cm) — for big dogs or when you want to engrave more text (Labrador, German Shepherd, Rottweiler)
How many characters fit on a medallion?
A small 2.5 cm medallion comfortably fits 2 lines of about 12-15 characters each. A large medallion can fit up to 3 lines with more text. If you want to engrave:
- Name + phone number — small or medium size is enough
- Name + two phone numbers — choose medium or large
- Long text or address — we recommend the large size
Not sure what to choose?
That's perfectly fine. Select "I don't know — you suggest" at the size field in the order form and attach a photo of your pet. We'll recommend the right size based on the breed, weight, and product type chosen.
The preview helps you decide
Before production, we send you a digital mockup with the exact text, chosen font, and our recommended size. You can approve or request changes — freely and at no cost. We only produce once you're happy with the final design.
