At Labute Gravate we use three main materials for our engraved pet tags: linden wood, anodized aluminum, and epoxy resin. Each has distinct characteristics — and the right choice depends on your pet's lifestyle, your budget, and your aesthetic preference.

Laser-engraved linden wood

Advantages:

• Warm, natural, elegant appearance
• Extremely lightweight — your pet won't notice it
• Laser engraving creates beautiful contrast on the light wood surface
• Eco-friendly and biodegradable

Disadvantages:

• Sensitive to moisture and frequent water contact
• Scratches more easily than metal

Best for: indoor cats and dogs, small breeds, decorative or gift use.

Anodized aluminium

Advantages:

• Excellent resistance to water, corrosion, and impact
• Maximum durability — can last the pet's entire lifetime
• Available in multiple colours (silver, gold, black, and more)
• Lightweight compared to other metals

Disadvantages:

• More technical look — less "warm" than wood

Best for: active dogs, swimming or outdoor pets, heavy daily use.

Epoxy resin (with embedded photo)

Advantages:

• Your pet's photo is sealed permanently inside the tag
• Unique appearance that cannot be replicated
• Water-resistant
• Perfect as a keepsake or memorial piece

Disadvantages:

• Surface can scratch if rubbed against abrasive materials
• The most expensive of the three options
